When does GafferGrid launch?
November 2026 on the Mac App Store.
Which devices and languages?
A Mac with macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple silicon or Intel, in English (UK) and Danish. iPad, iPhone and more languages come next.
What's free, and what's Pro?
Every tool works in one project with one location and one scene, along with the full power calculator and PDFs with a small watermark. Pro unlocks unlimited projects, locations and scenes, clean PDFs, your own lamps, cameras and stands, and export.
What does the founding price mean?
From launch until 31 December 2026, Pro costs $44.99 for the first year (new subscribers) or $129.99 for life. After that, the prices are $59.99 a year and $179.99 for life.
Which power systems are supported?
UK and European 230/400 V: 13 A sockets, 16, 32, 63 and 125 A CEE, generators and batteries. In English the app uses UK plugs (BS 1363); in Danish, Danish ones. North American power comes later.
Can I trust the numbers?
GafferGrid counts every lamp at full output and keeps each phase under 80%. It's a planning guide: a qualified electrician or gaffer must approve the distribution on the day.
Who makes GafferGrid?
People working in the film industry. We build it around how crews actually work on set, and we keep making it better with every update.
What comes after 1.0?
More is on the way. 1.0 is the core, from the frame to the gear list, and new versions come as updates through the Mac App Store.
